The Internet and The Web

FTP( file transfer protocol)
Short for File Transfer Protocol, the protocol for exchanging files over the Internet. FTP works in the same way as HTTP for transferring Web pages from a server to a user's browser and SMTP for transferring electronic mail across the Internet in that, like these technologies, FTP uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols to enable data transfer.FTP is most commonly used to download a file from a server using the Internet or to upload a file to a server (e.g., uploading a Web page file to a server).

     A webmaster also called as a web architect, web developer, site author, website administrator, or (informally) webmeister, is a person responsible for maintaining a website.Someone who manages a Web server and the process of uploading files for publication on the Web. May sometimes also function as the gatekeeper for what is published on the Internet from a company or organization.This is an individual who builds, publishes, maintains, and updates websites. Webmasters can be thought of as website administrators, as opposed to network and systems administrators, who handle the infrastructure behind the website.It depending on the size of the site, the Webmaster might be responsible for any of the following:



  • Making sure that the Web server hardware and software is running properly


  • Designing the Web site


  • Creating and updating Web pages


  • Replying to user feedback


  • Creating CGI scripts


  • Monitoring traffic through the site





  • Computer Support Specialist

    Computer support specialists help people use computers. When something goes wrong, support specialists figure out why. Then, they try to fix it.Many support specialists answer questions over the phone or by e-mail. Others also help people face-to-face. To answer a problem over the phone, the specialist takes the person through the necessary steps to fix the problem using their own computer.They also install printers, software, and other computer tools. Then, they teach people how to use them. Sometimes, they write instruction books.Some specialists check computer systems every day to make sure they are working well.




    Network Administrator

    Network administrator is a modern professional responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software that comprises a computer network. By U.S. law no person may use the title "engineer" (of any type) unless the person holds a professional engineering license from a state licensing board and are in good standing. A software engineer is also held accountable to a specific code of ethics.

    Technical Writer

    A technical writer is often tasked with writing documentation that explains technical issues in ways that non-technical people can understand. A technical writer might be responsible for writing the how-to manual for a software application. Technical writers are often copy writers and vice-versa.At the same time, precision in technical writing tends to be critical because if anything is described incorrectly, readers may act improperly on what is said, causing mistakes and problems at work.


    Systerm Analyst

     A systems analyst researches problems, plans solutions, recommends software and systems, and coordinates development to meet business or other requirements. They will be familiar with multiple approaches to problem-solving.A system analyst is the person who selects and configures computer systems for an organization or business. His or her job typically begins with determining the intended purpose of the computers. This means the analyst must understand the general objectives of the business, as well as what each individual user's job requires. Once the system analyst has determined the general and specific needs of the business, he can choose appropriate systems that will help accomplish the goals of the business.


    Programmer

    A programmer or coder, is someone who writes computer software. The term computer programmer can refer to a specialist in one area of computer programming or to a generalist who writes code for many kinds of software.One who designs software; One who decides which programs will be shown on a television station; A device that installs a software program into some other machine; A short film feature as part of a longer film program, a "B-movie" (now rare).Programmer is also a person who designs and writes and tests computer programs.
